Rui comes off as innocent and naive, to the point that Shimotsuki Shun has (somewhat negatively) influenced his way of thinking. However, he can also do rather unexpected things whilst maintaining a straight face. He possesses a unique worldview, which makes him nonreactive to things such as scary stories.
I fell in love with rui in 2016. It was 2 a.m. and my little sister suggested watching an anime with me. We decided on watching Tsukiuta: The Animation but since we were both half awake we ended up watching episode four first (we are stupid) there wasnt much of rui in episode four but once we realized our mistake we started from episode one.
the second i saw him my heart exploded with love. I became very invested in tsukiuta. I spent my time learning about the boys and girls and whenever I had money I bought their songs on iTunes (mainly rui's songs) I fell in love with his voice. It is so angelic and pure and listening to him sing warms my heart
Let me just talk about rui for a second. I need to explain how amazing he is okay. Rui was raised in a family of musically inclined people. His mother and father both played instruments and he himself played the piano. He participated in competitions for the piano and even won a few !!! (he is so fucking talented I Stan A God) Anyways Rui also has a brother who is... unfortunatly not musically inclined and this caused him to become jealous of his younger brother. Rei (his brother) acted violentlly with rui and to add on to rui had a bad relationship with his parents due to disagreements on his musical future. He eventually ran away from home and found his cat yamato.
Rui was picked up by Kai Fuduki (dad of the year) and lived with him until the two of them were scouted. How rui got scouted his actually quite funny... Kai showed the talent agency a photo of rui after he had just woken up hehe.
okay dudes now here are some facts about him that are very important to know
His eyesight is 1.0.He is said to be mother-like and the most cat-like among the 12 idols.He is left-handed. Iku said he wanted to hear it directly from Rui and will wait until he’s willing to talk to him.According to Terase Yuno Rui's easily misunderstood. He doesn't show his emotions much, and he also doesn't talk very often, so people would think he is cold and not friendly.
rui is unbelievably strong and I look up to him because of it. He had a hard life at home and ran away, he was on his own for a while but was helped by kai. because of his circumstances he does not attend school but that doesnt mean he isnt smart !!! Rui has a dream of writing and composing his own songs (and that dream has come true jdsfjd all his songs are "written" by him) even though the piano has caused him so many hardships with his home life he still continues to work hard at it because it is what he loves. Rui is also extremely caring and he loves his friends a lot. When iku had his track meet rui drew him a picture for good luck (even though he cant draw it was the cutest thing ever) He works hard at being an idol even though he is self conscious about his scars and he has a hard time talking and socializing with people. He is constantly doing his best and I look up to him for that. He is so inspirational and wonderful, I am so proud of him.
I would like to do a section on Rui's relationships with the eleven other boys because they are so important to me and his development as a character but his interactions with someone of them are limited so some of these are probably gonna be a little short and others wont even have one because uhh well rui doesnt really interact with most of the six gravity members as much as he does procella... :(
first up are the other procella members!
if you know anything about tsukiuta you would probably know that iku and rui are partners !! each unit is divided into three smaller duet units: the senior pairs, middle pairs and lastly the junior pairs. Since iku and rui are the youngest members of Procellarum they are obviously the junior pair. Like all the others Rui was very distant with iku at first however he eventually grew close to him. Besides kai, iku is probably rui's closest companion. Iku also happens to be the only one he has given a nickname too (ikkun)
kai fuduki (aka rui's dad) is also a very important person to rui. He was the one who found rui after he ran away and took him in. Kai gave rui food and shelter and even took care of him as if rui was his own son/little brother. Kai also gave rui the opportunity to join tsukiuta which eventually became something very important to rui.
Because Rui is really naïve and innocent, Shun likes to teach him a lot of weird things and it is really funny because rui just ends up being a whole ass cutie anyways. But also since rui likes to go bowling even though he isnt very good he said he doesnt like how shun looks happy when ever rui misses.
You is a funny guy and while he and rui do not really interact much the two of them still have a super cute relationship because You is easily freaked out and well... shun is a bad influence on rui.
Yoru reminds rui of a mom and he is 100% right because yoru is absolutly the mom of procella. But again even though rui and yoru dont have very much onscreen interaction the two of them are still super cute. Yoru likes to cook and bake so sometimes he makes rui's favorite food (pudding) for him and rui thinks that yoru's pudding is the best pudding.
as the junior pairs kakeru and koi are significantly close to rui and iku. the four of them are the sweetest group of idols I have seen and their relationship is so fucking pure. In the very first episode of the animation koi kekeru and rui go out together to try some sweets and they then go to an amusement park. The four of them have had so many cute moments together that you really just need to see them for yourself.
Rui does not have very many interactions with the other six gravity members so here are some cute pictures of them together. UHHHHHH i really love how sweet everyone is to rui no matter how close they are so six gravity as a whole are also very important to but since he is not apart of their unit he doesnt really get content with them So i will take anything that is given to me.
Yuno is the female representative for June and her and rui also have a fairly close relationship. Since the two of them both like cats rui will sometimes let her play with yamato. Despite the fact that it makes him absolutely mortified yuno is able to carry rui bridal style since he is pretty small but then again I am pretty sure anyone could carry rui bridal style afterall for being 21 years old he is only 5'5 so he is probably super light too...
I sadly dont have any rui merch but I am planning on making an ita bag for him in the future.
